There's a small, more secluded beach on the west side of Le Château, below the sea wall of the port. A little further on are a string of coves beyond the port that start with the plage de la Reserve opposite parc Vigier. From the water you can look up at the nineteenth-century fantasy palaces built onto the steep slopes of the Cap du Nice.
